  • I'm new to yoga + breathwork, what should I do?
Welcome! We're thrilled to have you join us. All our classes are rated by their energy output. We recommend starting with a gentle or medium energy class to ease into yoga and breathwork. Let the teacher know you're new so they can offer relevant guidance. Enjoy your practice!
  • I'm new to Reformer, what should I do?
Welcome to Pilates! If you're new to Pilates, we recommend starting with our Foundations class. If that time doesn't suit you, please don't hesitate to call us. We'd be happy to chat and see if another class would be suitable for you to join for your first time. We look forward to helping you begin your Pilates journey!
  • Where is the studio?
We have 2 studios. Osborne Park: 4/4 Donovan St, best found via Google Maps. If you get lost, simply put Donovan Street, Osborne Park in maps - it's a short street and you should easily see the Yoga Folk sign on the east side of the street. Jolimont: 23 Bishop St - easy to find!
  • What should I do if the class I want to attend has a Waitlist?
We encourage you to join the waitlist for classes you're interested in – more often than not, you'll get in! If you're on the waitlist, please ensure you're committed to attending the class, as late cancellation and no-show fees do apply if you've been added to the class within a reasonable time frame. This policy ensures fairness and consideration for all participants while maximizing class availability. If you have any questions about our waitlist policy, feel free to ask!
  • What do I bring to class?
Please wear clothes you're comfortable to move in when attending our classes. For Reformer classes, grip socks are mandatory for safety reasons. Access to Reformer classes without grip socks will not be permitted. Note to bring a mat for yoga (but we do have these to use at the studio if you don't have one), and a water bottle for all classes.
  • Are your classes pregnancy-friendly?
We welcome expectant mothers to participate in our classes, but we prioritize your safety and comfort. Please ensure to notify us and each teacher before class so that they can offer any necessary guidance and adjustments. While our instructors are experienced in providing additional support, Yin classes may not be recommended during pregnancy due to the increased hormone relaxin, which can lead to overextension. However, our instructors are comfortable offering modifications to help avoid this risk. Please be mindful of this when attending Yin classes. During Yin and Oils sessions, we cannot guarantee that the oils used are pregnancy-friendly. Therefore, we recommend informing the teacher and opting out of any use or contact with oils. Yin and sound classes may not be advised for pregnancy due to the use of sound bowls. Breathwork classes can be attended during pregnancy, but please be cautious as breath retentions are not recommended and should be avoided throughout the class. You may participate in reformer classes with clearance from your doctor or birth practitioner. Always consult with your doctor or healthcare provider before participating in any classes, and please participate at your own risk. This policy aims to ensure the safety and well-being of expectant mothers participating in our classes. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
  • What's your class cancellation policy?
Late cancellations are cancellations made 8 hours or less before class. For yoga or breathwork classes, late cancellations result in no credit returned. For Reformer sessions, late cancellations or no-shows result in no credit returned and a $15 fee will be incurred.
  • What if I'm late to class?
Our classes adhere to strict start and end times. To maintain punctuality and security, our instructors lock the front doors at the beginning of each class, ensuring the safety of personal belongings inside the studio. We recommend arriving at least 5 minutes early to ensure you have time to park, get settled and set up for class. If you arrive after the start time for Pilates, you will be unable to access the studio, and your class will be forfeited, with a $15 no-show fee applied to your account.
  • What is your membership cancellation policy?
We require just one month's notice, with all charges applying within that period. This helps us forecast and manage cashflow, whilst keeping the notice period as minimal as we possibly can.
